How to clear tags in v5?

There was a suggestion to do the following: ['tags'=>[]] . But this doesn't seem to be working.

Can anyone tell me how to remove all tags ( or individual) in the new version?
ie.
Newsletter::subscribeOrUpdate($email, [], '', ['tags'=> []]);
