Is this book a good option for a complete newbie to Haskell and programming?

I want to learn Haskell by doing something interesting, and I'm interested in knowing if this book would provide me with a good foundation for Haskell, or at the very least be tractable for me. I'm interesting in making my own blog for either way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: To add, I'm interested in eventually building parsers and mini programming languages, which is why this book is very intriguing to me.

I think this book might be a bit too much for a complete newbie to programming. To keep things somewhat concise, it expects some experience with programming, though not with Haskell. Still, you could always try and report back whether it worked out for you or not.

Regarding your goal, Haskell is definitely a good language to learn in that case.

Thank you, I will try to do so and see if I'm able to go through the book.

To be fair though, I have programmed assignments before in C (arduino), so it's not totally unfamiliar to me. But I am a newbie in that I've never programmed on my own time and my own projects, the basics of programming I already understand.
