Minecraft Pi API #2963
-
I saw in a recent commit that the Minecraft Pi API is being removed in the next release of Sonic Pi. The argument is that Minecraft Pi Edition does not officially work on the latest Raspberry Pi OS, and as such the API is now "useless." However, I do not believe this to be true. The Minecraft Pi Edition API has long been supported on Java Edition through plugins such as RaspberryJuice, which runs on both desktop and Pi, and revival efforts have also ported the original Pi Edition over to Bullseye+. Considering that the Minecraft Pi Edition API does and will continue to work on all of the latest target OSes of Sonic Pi, is it possible to reconsider this removal? |

Apologies, but the Minecraft Pi API implementation in Sonic Pi was in desperate need of modernisation and given the loss of support on the Raspberry Pi it seemed like the right time to retire it. If we see a lot of interest in reviving it using our new IO architecture, I'd be happy to consider re-implementing it. |
