The italic ampersand in crimson you can find in the font Inknut Antiqua. It's not uncommon to see it in older (pre-1900s) books. People don't mind if their punctuation marks lack italic forms, the default ampersand already looks italic in Crimson and Times New Roman. You can use it without italic-ing to get the standard look.
The italic ampersand is hard to recognize. Can you make it more recognizable?
