JIRA 2-way integration not available in 4.0.19

I am using the last maven version (4.0.19).

Creation of the reports and adding of the JIRA issue links in the report work well.
On the other hand I cannot succeed to activate two-ways communication with Jira and to update the comments in JIRA.
There is no trace in the logs that any class of the serenity-jira-plugin is ever executed.

Can you please confirm if this functionality is available and working in this version?

• If yes, could you please suggest the working configuration in the host project?
• If not, could you please propose me some guidelines and tips how the fix should be implemented for this issue?

This feature is not currently supported - the JIRA plugin needs to be rewritten to use the latest versions of the Jira APIs, which have changed since the plugin was first implemented.

No I didn't use that config.

I tried now to follow these instructions and implement the suggested but it doesn't seems to change anything(especially not in terms of the communication with Jira) except that it doesn't pickup the feature file and that no reports are generated.

I confirm that the credentials used are 100% correct.

I suggest you to try to launch and use the local Jira Server by using the following docker image:

Whole setup shouldn't take more then 5-10 minutes, but it can be much more comfortable to have the concrete JIRA version available during the development.

At the same time it looks like this version(4.0.22-SNAPSHOT) brakes the chrome driver. In the logs I have also another error:

It seems that it ignores the settings I specified in serenity.conf and it tries to force the usage of the default Chrome version installed.

@wakaleo I did thorough verification today and indeed I found the way to unblock the situation

1. The user, which credentials I am using, he had only the Jira role "Contributor Permanent" on the project. After I assigned him the role of "Project Administrator" too, the error 401 was resolved.
2. After that NullPointerException was raised when trying to parse the JSON of the comments:

I resolved this error, in my local build of Serenity (based on 4.0.22-SNAPSHOT), by changing the values of two constants in the net.serenitybdd.plugins.jira.domain.Author class:

Which means this is another fix that needs to be integrated in the next release.

However the Jira communication seems to work now and the comments are well created in Jira. On the other hand I cannot confirm for the change of the status of Jira issues, as I don't use yet this functionality.
