Local repository with Docker: "/path/to/repo does not appear to be a git repository"

Hey,

I'm struggeling to get a local repository working. When I try to run a task, ansible-semaphore doesn't seem to find the repository.

11:32:50 PM fatal: '/git_repository/' does not appear to be a git repository

11:32:50 PM fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

11:32:50 PM Please make sure you have the correct access rights

11:32:50 PM and the repository exists.

11:32:50 PM Failed updating repository: exit status 128

11:32:50 PM Running playbook failed: exit status 128

In my docker-compose.yml I binded a host-folder to the semaphore container.:

volumes:
  - type: bind
    source: ~/ansible-semaphore/repository/
    target: /git_repository/
    read_only: true

The local path contains a valid git repository:

ls -la ~/ansible-semaphore/repository/

Am I doing something wrong?

I think you should check directory in container by docker exec -it <container_id> /bin/bash.

I could have thought of that myself...

The semaphore image has no /bin/bash installed, but with sudo docker exec -it <ID> ls -la /git_repository I get the content and it includes the repository. The folder permissions should also be accessible for semaphore.

sudo docker exec -it <ID> ls -la /git_repository
