Through working with scientific code, we agree that scientific code needs to be treated as a genuine research output. For this reason we have created a manifesto, which will allow both individuals and organisations to sign up and agree to make genuine efforts to both make their own scientific code open, as well as sharing the manifesto mission with others.
Right now, we're looking for feedback about the text of the manifesto, although we're hopeful that it's pretty close to the final thing. You can also look at the issues on github and see if there's anything else you can pick up. You can also look at our roadmap to get an understanding of our timeline.
If you'd like to comment on the draft during the consultation period, you can do any of:
- Fill out this form with your feedback comments
- Create a GitHub issue (requires GitHub account)
- Fork the repo and create a pull request with suggested amendments.
If you want to recieve updates, including a reminder about when the manifesto is officially open for sign-up, please sign up to our mailing list.
If you'd like to provide your support before we finalise the consultation period, please contact us using one of the methods below. We're particularly interested in adding logos and links indicating organisational support from publishers, funders, and research institutions.
