Bug: Table of contents is broken when visiting subpages

The table of contents is split into two when visiting subpages. For instance, on the demo site, when navigating to the optimization tutorial, part of the toc appears at the top of the sidebar (which seems logical enough), but the toc for the subsections ends up appearing in the sidebar below the tutorial, all the way at the bottom but above the footer:
