@daneos on todays follow-up meeting I forgot to ask you about your experience in using the Slack. I think that on the Tango Kernel meeting in Krakow you were using it, right? How was it?

Hi, #sardana channel was created within the tango-controls Slack work space.
Please, feel free to join and start using it for developments and discussions

One more note:
The Github App for Slack is already installed in the tango-controls Slack work space so, you can start exploring the following features:

Thanks @guifrecuni!
I propose that on the tomorrow's follow-up meeting we discuss it a little bit. It would be nice if you could subscribe to the channel already.
Personally I don't have any experience with Slack. So if you have, it would be great if you could share it tomorrow.
I just subscribed from the channel to the sardana-org GitHub repositories. I also installed the GH - Slack integration app in our organization on GitHub. With this we we could use all this features.
Note, the idea is just to evaluate it. If we are not satisfied with this we can remove all the above settings.

We are using the Slack channel for a couple of weeks already, mainly for the release coordination, but there were already few questions asked there by our MaxIV colleagues. I think it looks very promissing.

On the last follow-up meeting a question was raised about the Slack notifications, more preciselly, how to get notified about the actvity on the channel. Here you can find the official documentation about the desktop notifications. I have also made some tests. So basically, if you don't use the desktop app, and just use the web browser to access Slack, you can still receive the desktop notification. To do this you will need to give permission in your web browser to send desktop notification from the Slack page to the OS. I have not found a way of how to avoid the Slack page being opened, so you would need to remember to keep it opened in the web browser. All this of course if you don't use the destkop app. Personally I use the one for Linux, and also the one for Android. Both work fine.

Continuing on the notifications...
I have just discovered that there exist a feature of sending email notifications. Furthermore you can even reply to the Slack channel via email. This may be a perfect solution for people who still prefer messaging via email.
