There is a mention about posts_count - the model naming for disquss resources can be unclear.

Guys, I'm actually so embarrassed that I don't remember that code anymore, because I didn't used it quite a while... But recently I saw some pull request and it looks like people finding gem useful, so I decided to look into it tomorrow and make good checking of everything out. Sorry about that.

It might but the problem is the post count is logged via the Disqus website, meaning it will need to be pulled via that, there is a way to do it using Javascript and all that, but it's much less user friendly than having it natively in Rails
