[BUG] UI: cannot change the retention mode of the object

User cannot change the retention mode of an object (latest version of the object).
The buttons are disabled, only legal hold is enabled.

Does the "Retention Mode" field get enabled if "Legal Hold" is turned on?

They should according to documentation.

I'm asking whether that happens in the current form of the UI.

None, I've try now, but the retention modes settings seem to be always disabled.

As a side note, we have never discussed and specified that UI feature. Because of that the UI does not support the modification of the retention mode per object.

How others are doing it per object (with a default retention):

Compliance Allow to change the retain until date
Governance Allow to enable/disable it and change the retain until date

But it is not possible to switch Compliance <-> Governance
