SubSchematics should have their own configuration setting files that can override the default configuration of the structure (things like masks, replacing blocks, and maybe new settings to prevent the SubSchematics from branching into water/lava and flooding those areas)
Another idea is making an option so the SubSchematics cannot generate if there is another SubSchematic in the way (this is an issue I was having a LOT), and maybe have some sort of smaller fallback part of the structure that is generated if the SubSchematic can't generate (like Minecraft's Jigsaw blocks).
