Schmucks not picking up items.

I've tried using the job specific Schmucks, and jobless Schmucks. They have a chest that's whitelisted, but none of them will pick up the items on the ground. I can manually put the items into their inventories and they will put those in the chest, but the Schmucks will NOT pick up on their own.
