@Bibiko: Hans-Jörg: you contributed useful functions for writing KML files to R package maptools some time ago. I have retired, and am "retiring" maptools in October 2023. In r-spatial/evolution#6, some users of your functions have expressed interest in their continued availability, so please respond if you might take them over as package maintainer, or whether you have any other suggestions.
