The link to "the GEM library" takes me to a page that my browser says does not exist.

Any idea where I can find the gem tools now?

GEM is still available at Sourceforge.

However, I think GenMap is a better tool for now to calculate mappability. You can try it if you have no special reason to use GEM.

Thanks for that sourceforge link, and for the quick response.

I should have explained in my initial post that I'm trying to set up some pre-existing tool's pipeline which includes several GEM commands. Searching for GEM, I was brought to this repo's README.

Continued search for GEM after my post suggested there might be other compatibility problems with it. My initial hope, of course, was that I could just use that pipeline without having to spend much effort trying to understand (pr fiddle with) its components. But that now seems unlikely. I'll take a look at GenMap and see if it's suitable in my context. Thanks!
