"Automatically convert line breaks" toggle does not affect editor

As the title says, turning "Automatically convert line breaks" off in the admin settings only affects the rendered page; in the editor, a line break still results in a line break in the preview.

I am having this problem on a freshly fetched docker image with the default rendering settings (except for "Automatically convert line breaks" which I turned off).

Expected behavior
The preview in the editor should resemble the rendered page result.
