support selection of virtualization platform #10

Currently support builds on VMware based platforms (Fusion, Workstation, >= ESXI 5.5)

Validate and test on virtualbox, qemu(via xen and/or kvm) for all currently supported OS (>= Windows 7)

Hyper-V is desired however known workflow differences make this an ambitious stretch goal.
