Description:
For auditing purposes, we want to ensure that Lauren is emailed when a user is assigned the role of "System Admin" or when a "System Admin" role is unassigned.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Lauren is emailed on role assignment with system admins
  • Lauren is emailed when system admin roles are unassigned
  • Testing Checklist has been run and all tests pass
  • README is updated, if necessary

Tasks:

  • Add re-usable trigger function(s) when modifying a user's role
  • Add logging statements for user role event changes
  • Emails are sent to [email protected] for role events involving system admin
  • Run Testing Checklist and confirm all tests pass

Per backlog refinement 3.1.22 -- will leave unrefined until #1335 is completed.

Per @jorgegonzalez, we should brainstorm similar tickets for the epic #1214 and transform this current ticket into a more holistic approach on auditing logging/emails.
