Use logstash handler for chef, when available #48

It would be super cool if we could log the chef runs to ELK.

There's also other prior art out there about the GELF handler for chef and using the GELF input for logstash. It looks a little more polished than the repo above did, but I have misplaced the link.

This sounds like a great initiative. I'd love to start pulling my weight and help out. I'm guessing this is the GELF handler you're referring to (it's in chef supermarket)?

Yeah! I'm going to work on putting the logstash agent stuff into platformstack today, and then we can configure any inputs just by dropping in additional files like we do for cloud monitoring (like your 2nd link, it'd just be that file to add).
