Cypress Validation Utility VM Install Instructions

Robert Clark edited this page Oct 22, 2018 · 5 revisions

These instructions are for the Cypress Validation Utility (CVU) v3, which is not the latest version of the CVU. CVU v4 is not yet available in downloadable form, but can be accessed for non-PHI testing at https://cypressvalidator.healthit.gov.

A virtual machine (VM) is a software implementation of a computer that executes programs like a physical machine. Cypress provides a 64bit VM image that contains a fully installed instance of the Cypress Validation Utility application. This VM can be imported into a Virtual Machine infrastructure like VMWare or VirtualBox. You can download the VM image as an Open Virtualization Format (OVF) file at the following link:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/cypress_public/CVU.v3.2.3_Public_VM.ova

Note that the VM is 64-bit and will need to be run on a 64-bit infrastructure and is compatible with VMWare Workstation 11 and 12, VMWare Player 7, VMWare Workstation Player 12, VMWare Fusion 6 - 8, and VirtualBox 5.1.x or higher.

Once you have installed the Cypress Validation Utility, you will need to proceed to initial setup.
