It's probably not set up as an MMD model (.pmx need a bit of extra information, although it can be filled out with boilerplate.)
General technique for exporting anything as a .pmx: 1) Add a new MMD model to the scene (shift a ->armature->create MMD model.) This creates an armature object parented to an empty; the structure contains that boilerplate. 2) In 3D viewport, select the mesh object, shift select the armature, parent with empty groups (ctrl-p->armature deform/empty groups.) After that, you should be able to export the structure as a .pmx file. Note that all you may have is the barebone mesh; you won't have weights, you won't have materials set up, your object info will all be boilerplate, and you certainly won't have physics.
The plugin will not let me export my object as a PMX file (It is grayed out). Is there a way to export the object as a pmx?
