Switch names not visible #37
Comments
Oh. I did not install iOS 16 yet. I will look into this. |
I have the same issue since iOS16 |
Probably not a Plugin issue. More iOS 16 Bug related. I just deleted the default names of the switches, and then you can see the initial name to rename it again. |
Same here. All my messages are shown as "Messenger" partly with the switch or the setting panel symbol. Only one message name is correct. The plugin is up to date and the iPhones are on 16.0.2. |
@DJay-X But no improvement. Everything is still called "Messenger". Any other tricks up your sleeve? One hour later: |
Had the same issue. My solution: go the accessory details for each switch and click the X to clear the "Messenger" name. The plug-in switch name will be visible, but grayed out. If you click Done now, it reverts back to Messenger again. To solve, click the switch icon to the left of the name and select either icon. When you come back to the Details screen, the plug-in switch name should be populated for you! Hope that's clear! |
Thx @fancypantsifier for this little "cutoff". But I’ve done all my almost 40 messages manually. Hell what hassle. But I was also able to clean it up a bit and do a bit of fine-tuning. But next time (unfortunately I expect it) I’ll do it your way. |
@fancypantsifier, mine keep reverting to Messenger. Can you clarify how to get the actual name to stick? |
@garyhooper I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm not sure what to clarify. IIRC, the key for me was clicking the switch icon and selecting one of the icons. But otherwise, I think I laid out the exact steps I did. Once the plug-in name was populated, and I saved/closed the details page, it stuck. |
@fancypantsifier , I was finally able to get it to work. Thanks! |
At first I thought you meant to go into Homebridge and change the name of the accessory there, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Then I realized you meant to go into the Apple Home app and change the name of the accessory there. That worked great! Thank you very much for explaining how to do this. It's been driving me nuts ever since iOS 16 or so! 🤣👍🏼 |
In IOS 16 all switches are shown as type - not names of messages
