Everyone has a different concept of what is a dashboard, so let's figure this out together.

Please use this issue to brainstorm what dashboards should be available on BLR.

IIUC, BLR is a tool to search for treatments. So on a dashboard I would expect to see the favorite queries and their results. The dashboard user could quickly access their most wanted treatments and see when a new relevant treatment is published.

The dashboard user could quickly access their most wanted treatments

That would require somehow identifying and remembering a particular user, and all the consequent hassles of creating such a system and tangling with GDPR requirements

we started discussing dashboards in 2014 at the last meeting of pro-iBiodiv and continued it to the begin of the BLR website, but then did not follow suit. We have also a series of dashboards done for Jeremey

here are the tools and explanations. Furthermore Marcus build a tool that we used to create dashboards for this article and some presentations. just replace

Still the basic idea is to create a profile for our main users, that is a scientist, a taxon, a collection, a journal for which a series of about six dashboards would be presented, with the options to get more.

We have some notes on this, but I need to get them when I am back next week.

If I am searching for Agosti in TB, and provide standardized charts as well as further options, then there is no GDPR issue.

Yes, that's how I understand dashboards in software, as a customizable surface that provides an overview of the properties most relevant to the user.

and all the consequent hassles of creating such a system and tangling with GDPR requirements

Why? Even if you make it involve server and cookies, I don't see any PII the server would require. That said, there's no requirement for an involvement of the server (and cookies) as this could well be achieved client-side with local storage.

@punkish you mentioned there has been no response from us. In fact there has been, see eg July 27?!

the dashboards are one of the points to be discussed and to be readay the latest for the Disentis meeting. Will be once again a topic at Sprint1, including the definition of the users (author, taxon, journal, institution/collection, etc.) https://github.com/plazi/arcadia-2/issues/42
