Thanks for the UT port! However, I'm stuck on 16.04 until a 20.04 port is available for my Redmi 9 (no ETA yet). Would you be so kind to package Amazfish for 16.04 as well?

I don't plan that currently.

  • I don't have extra device for that (I don't want to reflash my daily driver)
  • I have a feeling that there were library missing in xenial, so it would require to bundle it
  • I would rather spend my time with missing features such as activity samples or remote control of phone calls.

Thats fine, with a small team, we cant support everything. Will leave this active in case it comes up again.

I'm not the only one stuck on 16.04. A lot of devices are, so it's not like the benefit would be small. But I do understand that you don't currently have the capacity. Although you could test briefly on your PC, of course. I'd be happy to help test the builds on my device and report back. And I'm also happy to donate to you as at least a partly compensation for your time.

Unfortunately 16.04 is out of support, it will no longer receive updates nor fixes. The best way forward would be for the device maintainers to upgrade their port to focal where ever possible.

About 21 out of the 54 16.04 devices that are supported by the installer, are now on focal. 'just' 33 to go! ;)

I would like to encourage anyone 'stuck' on 16.04 to encourage their port maintainers to upgrade their port, or even jump right in and look into what needs to be done!
