Was looking for something to make experience on mastodon.social better and found this, but I think something is not working. Are there any screenshots maybe how it's supposed to look with the script? Currently it makes 3 column much narrower and also changes colors so that text in some cases is almost invisible, because it matches the background 😕

can you show me the case when the colors don't work for you with a screenshot?

Unfortunately, I have not yet found a good solution for taking screenshots together with data protection so that no user data from other accounts is published.

So this is without script:

And with:

Main parts are all smaller (font size, columns width...), some links are completely invisible

Hi,

this userscript is intended to work with the extended mastodon-view, where there are several columns (like tweetdeck).
And yes, the script shrinks columns a little bit. That is also intended and cann be changed easily in the script.

Which links are completely invisible? I can't find them.

Oh, I completely forgot it's meant for advanced UI. But there it's even worse 🙁

No script:

With script:

Script makes main middle column even more narrower. Still same links are almost invisible (e.g. who boosted the post). Similar case with post action icons...

IMO this script is far from usable, unless it's intended for some very specific use case, which I can't see

It's probably not for YOU if you don't like the changes. I can see the buttons very well on my PC and I also like the slightly smaller columns, because then more content fits on the screen. But everything is customizable for everyone.

Maybe in the future there will be variables at the beginning of the script to set various features. But you'll have to want to customize those too if that's important to you.

What exactly do you expect from this script that YOU would find good? I don't understand it yet.
What exactly would help you? What is your pain point with the default view?

The very hard to recognize account name above a post, if it has been boosted I will take a look ASAP.

Thanks.

I guess it's just a matter of taste. I was expecting a completely different look, but it's so far from what I would consider usable for myself. It's not just colors, but also the sizes - I would much rather use the screen real estate, but now it's the opposite. Fonts are also a bit smaller, which even more reduces usability on desktop. I kind of understand some of the changes theme makes if you're just on mobile, but still not for me.

If there was a screenshot, I would've probably just skipped the theme without bothering you 🙂 But now, when I applied it, I honestly thought there's something off and some styles are missing maybe

As I said - just a matter of taste if it was intended to be like this 😉
