It seems like the proximity sensor is not working correctly.
I used a test app to monitor the sensor status. From what I can tell, there's no physical sensor, but the software uses the accelerometer or something to determine when to change the proximity status. The issue is, anytime I have the device upright, the proximity sensor goes into a detected status and shuts off the screen during video calls. If I lay the device down so the screen is pointing straight up, the sensor status changes.
Has anyone run into this issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve it? Ideally the proximity sensor is simply disabled, but I'm not sure how to accomplish that in the software.
