In the fullness of time it may be advantageous to have a distribution package that doesn't include the full development heirachy. Given that the Kernel and BASIC implementations are written in an intermediate home-grown assembly language, it may not be easy for anyone with ESP32 development knowledge to modify. Having a binary distribution package that users can just use will minimise their confusion if they just want to built their own retro computer and program it in its native language.
