Today, for the nth time this month I had to help someone with using
zigi
who also hadzopen
installed. Seems the issue is that each user/site had. /zopen/etc/zopen-config
in their/etc/profile
or in the users$HOME/.profile
which works just fine from TSO OMVS or via the shell however it does not work fine frombpxwunix
.bpxwunix
supports a login option as the 5th parameter and that does login to the environment and seems to get the environment variables of the shell but it does not process thezopen-config
.I have my own tool that captured the environment prior to the
zopen-config
and then compared that to the environment afterzopen-config
generating a file with the environment variables that I can then use withzigi
- Henri Kuiper has this gist which also works: to generate an environment file for use byzigi
.https://gist.github.com/wizardofzos/0b7fb5d5ec00bbec1e3b6c0dab8027cf
What would be better would be if the
zopen install
andzopen upgrade/update
would create a file that can be added to the end of the/etc/profile
or$HOME/.profile
and bypass the dynamiczopen-config
