slack-clone: how do public.users rows get created?

I've been playing with the slack-clone today.

One thing I can't figure out, when I sign up as a new user in the slack clone, I see my user gets added to the auth.users table as well as the public.users table, and the UUIDs match. But I don't see any triggers that would cause that?

I was expecting to find a trigger as described here, but poking around in pgadmin on the DB, I can't find it.
