@martinprogrammer great questions. It would help folks in to have a specific example community or project in mind. it could even be a toy or made-up example. Could you provide one? |

Question 1: What are the ingredients needed to build this community defined by common goals?First, to recap, the community is ...
So this is a classic "let's start a (conscious) coliving community" project ... So what are you going to need?
In the core group you are going to want a significant alignment on vision and values. I'd recommend reading this excellent book for more: https://lifeitself.org/blog/2021/05/14/notes-on-creating-a-life-together-by-diana-leafe-christian |

@rufuspollock The understanding of psychological underpinnings characterised by a different mental wiring and manifested in diverse social requirements, values prioritisation, conflict resolution styles, information processing and work approaches is one of those essential components. Another one is not to fall into a trap of idealism and ignore the realities and the research into the reasons of communities' failures. This one particularly resonates with me: One bad apple can destroy a community (and even if doesn't destroy it will eat a lot of energy). I believe that communities need to be carefully put together (a bit like a team building exercise) and curated. Education plays a great role here - a community needs to be homogenised through specially designed classes instilling common values and the purpose and inviting challenging views (if nothing else to highlight as soon as possible that the ideals are not shared). |

Update: Focal topic is ...
Let's start a conversation - any of the questions below or anything related :-)
What are the ingredients needed to build progressive communities defined by common goals?
What are strategies for defining common goals and subscribing to them?
What are the practical operational aspects of running such communities?
What are the conflict resolution options?
What are the limits of members' collaboration?
How to nurture real friendship and kinship in such communities?
How to homogenise the members and how important is that?
What would an ideal community look like if taken from a future concept and worked backwards towards our reality?
What would an ideal community look like if we imagined it evolved forward from here?
What are the ways of maintaining high levels of motivation?
How would a community leverage neuro-divergent people?
Would members benefit by making financial decisions together or financing projects jointly?
How would communities exert political power?
How would communities be financed?
