Since our developer resources are very limited and since FreeBSD has matured over decades, we want to deviate it from it as little as possible, especially in areas that impact the security and stability of the system (such as the kernel). So there would have to be excellent arguments for a switch to make use consider it. While we are loosely applying some of the ideas behind the original Mac Human Interface Guidelines, we are not necessarily interested in mirroring Apple's technical approaches but instead are trying to implement the concepts with more commonly used contemporary open source software. For example, we are using FreeBSD rather than Darwin, Qt rather than Cocoa, Python rather than Objective C, in part because we hope that these chioces will attract more developers. This being said, we are very closely following the development in the AiryxOS project and will consider to utilize them should they ever be upstreamed into FreeBSD. |

Have seen all sorts of goals with L4Darwin/Darbat, Newer takes on Mach, and even nano/pico-vkernel rumps that run their own stuff. Could be interesting to have more of a link to OSX-Like stuff while still having previous work to build on as opposed to doing an entirely New DarwinOS to be more inline with Mac
