Retrieving jobs metadata (via an API) of currently running workflow (in which I'm currently running) often return incorrect jobs/steps statuses

I'm trying to fetch the status of the current workflow (in which I'm currently running) using the following rest api

${githubApiUrl}/repos/${repository}/actions/runs/${runId}/jobs?per_page=100

The results often do not reflect the live statuses, but statuses that were true in the past

For e.g

I got two steps (within a job):

1. Step 1 - fail with exit 1
2. Step 2 - fetches jobs metadata of the current workflow

The response I get (while in Step 2) from the jobs metadata API is the following:

In the aforementioned example, Step 1 should have been with status failed and Step 2 should have been with status in_progress
