Has any got the steam Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition working on WinCX22 on an Apple Silicon? I'm getting the full-screen flash up at start-up, but then it fails to start, and not much info is in the logs. Did people install any winetricks for this?

Ok I found out the issue. Had to delete users/Wineskin/AppData/Local/Rockstar Games/GTA IV/XString.dat. I think the first start crashed on my external monitor and corrupted something in this file. After deleting the file the game started up ok.

Note I've also managed to get dgVoodoo2 working with GTA IV, to try and improve on the slow directx9 framework. Doing this improves the FPS (maybe like 50% or so). The benchmark now gives me avg 58FPS on high settings at 1920x1080 vs 35FPS with Wine3D. In-game I'm able maintain a minimum of 30FPS which is much better.

Steps to get dgVoodoo working with GTA IV were:

• Create wrapper with WS11WineCX64Bit22.1.1-rc1 engine
• Install game folder into wrapper
• Install dxvk-master via winetricks
• Download dgVoodoo 2.8.1
• Copy MS/x86/D3D9.dll, dgVoodooCpl.exe, and dgVoodoo.conf files into root GTA game folder.
• Open winecfg tool in wrapper and add the library *d3d9.dll & set to native,builtin
• Config dgVoodoo via dgVoodooCpl.exe or manually editing the dgVoodoo.conf.
• Make sure to set the DirectX video card to "internal3D" in the config file, or dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card.
• Optionally increase the video ram for the dgVoodoo card. I used 2048MB ram. To use this you need to create commandline.txt in the root GTA game folder and add the following:

-norestrictions
-availablevidmem 2048
