There is a new package in epel called nagios-plugins-check-updates which also provides nagios-plugins-check-updates.

Sorry, something went wrong.
So the problem statement is that the following does not work:
yum install nagios-okplug*
Because there is a package there, nagios-okplugin-check_updates and it conflicts with a similar package from epel.
Solution... is it safe to remove nagios-okplugin-check_updates from the repo ?
Yes, it is safe, check_yum and check_package_updates are only being used.
