How does the measures command decide on input files?

does the measure command attempt to calculate measures on all files ending with dates? is there a way to specify/control what it calculates measures for?

Broadly, yes. It's done per study definition so if you've got multiple study defs and you use the --study-definition argument when running generate_measures then it will only use the CSV files from that particular study definition. But it will use any of those files which have a date at the end of their filename.
