Recommending an expression/transformation type for JSON-LD

There is more than one way to express Linked Data using JSON-LD syntax (e.g. expansion, compaction, flattening). It may be useful to recommend one expression/transformation type so that OGC JSON-LD documents may be more easily consumed by applications.
