label: palm testing |
@DeanJayMathew at the moment It appears there is not much documentation available about that Notifications sidebar. However, after looking into the code I can infer this feature is designed to upsell paid/verified certificate of course to those learners who are enrolled in Audit/free track of course. To test this feature I think these steps needs to performed.

Since this involves the e-commerce service, should we ignore the test case? |

The Notifications sidebar is a feature commonly found in various software applications, websites, and operating systems. It serves as a centralized location for displaying and managing notifications or alerts related to the user's activities, events, or system updates. The purpose of the Notifications sidebar is to provide users with timely information and updates without interrupting their current tasks or workflows. The Notifications sidebar typically appears as a small panel or area on the user interface, usually located on one side of the screen. It may contain icons, badges, or text-based notifications that inform users about various events or actions that require their attention. These notifications can include a wide range of information such as new messages, emails, calendar reminders, system updates, social media interactions, application-specific alerts, and more. One of the primary benefits of having a Notifications sidebar is that it allows users to stay informed and engaged with important events or updates without having to constantly switch between different applications or windows. By providing a centralized location for notifications, users can easily glance at the sidebar to see if there are any new alerts or messages that require their attention. In terms of usage, the Notifications sidebar typically provides interactive features that allow users to take action directly from the sidebar itself. For example, users can click on a notification to open the associated application or message, mark a notification as read or unread, dismiss or clear notifications, reply to messages, snooze reminders, and perform other relevant actions depending on the specific functionality provided by the software or platform. Furthermore, many modern operating systems and applications offer customization options for the Notifications sidebar. Users can often configure which types of notifications they want to receive and how they want them to be displayed. This level of customization allows individuals to tailor their notification experience according to their preferences and needs. In summary, the Notifications sidebar is an essential component in many software applications and operating systems. It serves as a centralized hub for displaying and managing notifications related to various events, messages, and updates. By providing users with timely information without interrupting their workflow, the Notifications sidebar enhances productivity and keeps users informed about important activities. Expected behavior
There should be documentation available for Notifications, but I don't think there is any available so we can't use that feature.
Actual behavior
How do we use this feature?
Steps to reproduce
Open a course unit and click the "clock" on the right hand side to open the notifications sidebar. It's always blank. In edX it is used, but there is no documentation for Open edX.
