I was approached by @vsoch asking for comment on the proposals at:

Hi, dave, Very good comments, especially how to define a common interest spec which can sustain in long term. The proposal B is mainly from nodes validation angle, but not from the runtime image selection. To fulfill image selection use cases and validation use cases at the same time, that's the challenge to be discussed.
