Error 193 loading external opendmxusb

Just in case somebody is watching this github:
I get the above error in Max4Live when trying to insert an opendmxusb object.
When I insert a new object and type "open" opendmxusb shows up in the suggestions,
so it is seen by Max4Live, but fails to load when I select it.
This happens on Windows 8.1 64bit, Ableton Live 32bit and Windows 10 64bit, Ableton Live 64bit.
I placed opendmxusb.mxe64 and .maxhelp in the (I guess) correct folders.
Do I also have to put .c and .vcxproj somewhere?
It's the first time I'm trying to use an external, so maybe it's a noobie mistake...
Any ideas?
