I am missing a version statement on the webpage which makes it quite difficult to refer to the handbook when preparing an academic work. Wikipedia has a permanent link that links to a certain version of the document for this purpose, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Open_Knowledge_Foundation&oldid=473517495

The current version is v1.0. I will see what we can do to bake this plus perhaps the git commit number into each page.

Sphinx theme now has support for showing version in top bar via show_version option: https://github.com/okfn/sphinx-theme-okfn/blob/master/theme.conf. If we do want to show version prominently we can now do that (as well as placing in the footer).
