it is claimed that:

Several studies have estimated the economic value of open data at several tens of billions of Euros annually in the EU alone.

This claim is repeated in several other documents online (just Google the text above), always without any reference to the supporting studies.

What is the original source of this statement?

What are the studies that support this claim?
