Doctors Note's: Improper Formatting and Lack of Indication for New Messages. #7646

We have noticed an issue with the Doctor's Note chat box in the Care Portal. The formatting of the chat box is not consistent and Based on the provided sources, Spoke Doctors or Nurses accessing doctor notes and summaries online can face challenges in identifying which doctor is communicating and their specialization.

Enhance Doctor Identification: Implement a clear and standardized way to display the doctor's name, specialization, and role in the communication within the notes.

Specialization Indicators: Include visual cues like icons or color codes to denote the doctor's specialization next to their name for easy recognition.

Interactive Features:

  1. Introduce interactive features where doctors and nurses can hover over a doctor's name to view their specialization and profile.
  2. There is no clear indication when a new message is received in the chat box. This can lead to delays in responding to messages and can cause important information to be missed.

The more issue is related to the lack of clear and immediate indication when a new message arrives in the chat box of the doctor's notes field in the Doctors portal. Currently, the only indication is in the notification module, which may not be immediately noticeable to the other side Doctors or Nurses. To improve the user experience, it is suggested to have a dialog box indication, alert message, or symbol indication at the top of the doctor notes field to notify the user of a new message. This will ensure that the respective user is aware of the new message and can respond promptly, improving communication and care coordination between Hub Doctors to Spoke Doctors or Nurses.

we have got this feedback from Doctors in Hubli HUB and Bangalore HUB.

Another issue is, we have noticed

  1. Nurses also using this chat box, to reply to doctors notes.
  2. We have noticed Spoke doctors also using this to put notes to their patients.
  3. we have noticed doctors use it as a chat interface, instead of just Orders.

Why this is an issue ?

  • On the patient page - there is not quick reference for Doctor's orders.
  • On the dashboard, each conversation is considered as a TeleICU consultation. - this is inflating the number of TeleICU consultations . Hence there needs to be a clear demarcation as which is the doctors notes (TeleICU doctor notes) and which are Doctor orders (spoke hospital doctors putting orders and rounds details for their patients) and which are Nurses replies / notes in that chat interface.
