Proposal to set version at compile time (raised issue #267)
go build -tags release -a -ldflags "-X 'main.BuildVersion=$(git describe --tags --abbrev=0)' -linkmode auto -extldflags -static" -o supervisordif you do not provide
-X 'main.BuildVersion=$(git describe --tags --abbrev=0)'version is still hardcoded in version.goN.B. I am using
linkmode autobecause I am having issue withlinkmode externalin cross-compilation, as for reported issue #247.I am not a go programmer. If anyone knows some better way or best practise, please contribute... :)
