One important idea, I think, is either sketches or pilfered astrophotos of planets, on sort of a sliding scale, to represent possible detail at different levels of aperture. All color balanced to be the same tone, proportionate etc. Either simulated or real CA on a 70mm frac, and the like.
But however we get there, a single long image that's just a row of the same planet. From "fuzzy ball with two bands, loads of CA" (60mm/frac) to "ball with wispy bands, dots, barges, GRS" (150mm) to "dull astrophoto with rich detail" (10-12) with possible interim steps. - maff
