Updating Home Screen to 'My Communities' Only

Hello --

I received a request from a member today and I would like to know what we can do for her.

She says: I have to select "My communities" every time I log into the system. Is there a way to make my choice persistent?"

She shared a pic below. Basically. everytime she logs in, she sees a bunch of communities she is not a member of and doesn't need or want to see.

Is there a setting we can suggest for this?

We went through several rounds of trying to make this work. HL's solutions only made it worse and even broke the log in screen for about a week. We reverted back to the original view as to not make the system any worse. This is still something members would like to see fixed.
