Jarvis is a tool, not an instrument.

Computers, iPhones, Pianos, Papers, Cloths, Languages are instruments.
Car, Closets, Cups, Fans, Vacum cleaner, iPhone-cases are tools.

I think what makes an instrument an instrument is that you can express things with it that affect an outsider or an audience. Some tools can grow into an instrument. The original computer was used only for calculations but now it's much more than that.

But I think people get it wrong when they say voice is the new era of computing (being an instrument). Well, I don't think so. Jarvis is a tool, it meant to enhance your abilities, the same way bikes and cars help us be faster than Chitas.

I think Augmented Reality is going to be a new instrument.
