We don't want this live at the beginning of the night — would be better to be able to turn it on later once we have a few early states called?

Ideally, don't require a full republish to enable the button. Check for a var in the config and turn on based on that?

Update: For now we're going to do this instead:

sort of done already in #288, and documented in #289. Requires a redeploy to take effect.
