navigation bar not very visible

at the moment the purple box in the homepage is taking all of the attention from the land page and when one opens the page, the navigation bar may go unnoticed -> worse user experience as user cannot quickly navigate through pages.

Possible solutions:

• Make navigation bar bigger?
• Use a different color for navigation bar to increase constrast?
• a combination of the two previous?
• something else?

This may also get better with a banner added above the purple box -> #311 ?
Don't think it is that bad right now though, but some darker grey could work?
