Long animation speeds

I wanted to use superslides to create a near continuous animation slider. I tried doing this by setting play delay to 1 and animation speed to 15000. I am running into an issue where first slide doesn't load for something close to the length of the animation speed. Also the slider as a jump half way through some of the transitions.

What does your load cascade look like? Have you applied any prefetch techniques?
