Hi,

Composer now provides mechanics to check package versions natively, using composer show and composer outdated commands:

I think this package is no longer needed.

Hi,

there is no simple answer for this question. From one point of view YES is obsolete but Victor has few more options like --ignore-required-version and --exact-as-tilda with is not supported by composer. So from another point of view NO is not obsolete.
